Do you only want to watch the concerts?
NO TICKET NEEDED if you just want to watch any of the three FREE Marimbafest public concerts: the Artist Concert (Friday), the Grand Concert (Saturday) and the Gala Concert (Sunday). You don't need to register - just come!
Do you only want to watch certain classes?
If you're only interested in seeing one or two classes, or are on a budget, then our SINGLE ENTRY PASS is for you! All Marimbafest workshops can be observed passively by any non-participants for just $30 per person per workshop. You don't need to register for this option. Simply buy the SINGLE ENTRY PASS at the door of the workshop you wish to go to!
Are you only interested in the Marimba Competition?
If you just want to participate in our Open Marimba Competition and not attend any classes, our affordable COMPETITION ONLY PASS is for you! This lets you participate fully in the Competition, where you will perform solo and potentially win some prizes. You will also receive feedback on your performance from our judging panel to help you with your development as a player. Register below to sign up for the COMPETITION ONLY PASS!
Do you want the full Marimbafest festival experience? (Recommended option)
If you want to get the most out of Marimbafest, we highly recommend our most comprehensive ticket option, the FESTIVAL PASS! The FESTIVAL PASS allows you to enjoy all of Marimbafest as a festival participant.
Learn new things about marimba performance and composition by actively participating in all intensive masterclasses and workshops. Showcase your skills and potentially win prizes by participating in the Open Marimba Competition. Rehearse intensively with faculty and perform in public concerts alongside your fellow participants in the Marimbafest Festival Ensemble. Find out more about your playing with a private lesson with the faculty of your choice. You can do all this and more with the FESTIVAL PASS.

MARIMBAFEST 2020 HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED TO JULY 2021
Due to the COVID-19 situation happening globally, we regret to inform that Marimbafest 2020 (originally scheduled for July 2020) has now been cancelled.
We look forward to launching a new Marimbafest event in July 2021, and we welcome everyone to support us then.

Director of Percussion at Southern Utah University
An advocate for diversity in music, Dr Lynn Vartan is a world renowned marimba soloist, chamber performer and professor. Currently the Director of Percussion at Southern Utah University, she is also the percussionist for the two-time Grammy Award-winning ensemble Southwest Chamber Music. Lynn is a Marimba One Signature Artist with her own line of mallets and is an endorser for Paiste and Remo.
KANA OMORI
International Faculty (Japan)
International Marimba Virtuoso Soloist
Kana Omori is an international marimba soloist from Kyoto, Japan. A First Prize and Absolute Prize winner of PAS Italy, Kana frequently performs and presents classes around the world, including Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and the USA. Kana is an ADAMS marimba artist and has her own line of mallets with Encore Mallets Inc and endorses SABIAN Cymbals. Kana's arrangements are published by Edition Svitzer.

Robert Oetomo is a renowned Australian marimba soloist and composer whose artistic practice sees him performing around the world on a regular basis. His compositions are some of the most popular works in the marimba repertory. Robert is a Marimba One Discovery Artist, has a signature line of mallets with Encore Mallets Inc. and endorses Paiste Cymbals. Robert's works are published by Edition Svitzer and Tapspace.

Paul Tanner is a renowned Australian percussionist who has travelled across the world as a soloist, ensemble and orchestral musician. Formerly Principal Percussionist of West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Paul is now a DMA candidate and percussion faculty at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

With an established competition record, Dr Wei-Chen Lin is one of the world's most prolific marimba soloists and chamber musicians and was a Percussionist in the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Wei-Chen is a Marimba One Discovery Artist and is an endorser for Innovative Percussion with his own mallets and Grover Pro. Wei-Chen's arrangements are published by Edition Svitzer.

With numerous commissions to his name, Dr Matthew Lau is a leading Hong Kong percussionist who travels the world performing new percussion music. Matthew is the artistic director and founder of contemporary percussion ensemble The Up Strike Project. Matthew is a Marimba One Discovery Artist, has a signature line of mallets with Elite Mallets and endorses Black Swamp Percussion.

From Hong Kong, Therese Ng is a leading marimba soloist and educator. Amongst other competition successes, Therese won 1st Prize at the Australian Marimba Competition and the ENKOR International Music Competition. Therese performs regularly around Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and the US. Therese is the General Manager of Marimbafest Australia.

Adam Tan is a percussionist, composer and educator from Perth, Western Australia. He is the host and creator of the popular YouTube show about percussion, THE STUDIO.
